Casa Loop® is a foldable, sustainable playhouse designed for children aged 3–7. More than just a toy, it is a DIY 2-in-1 (home and shop) environment that invites creativity, social interaction, and imaginative play. Locally produced, handmade, and eco-friendly, it is easy to assemble, fold, transport, and store.

Approach
Casa Loop was developed as a D!N (DESIGNEDIN) product through a participatory, co-design process that placed children and parents at the heart of decision-making. Guided by Child-Centred Design and the Designing for Children’s Rights (D4CR) Guide, every choice reflected children’s rights, creativity, and well-being. Through observation, co-design sessions, prototyping, and testing, children directly contributed their ideas, making the playhouse intuitive, engaging, and fun.
Features
Child-centred: Co-created with children and parents, from ideation to testing.
Creative play: Encourages imagination, storytelling, role-play and drawing by turning walls into a canvas for creativity.
Social interaction: Brings together siblings, parents, grandparents, and friends.
Foldable & portable: Easy to assemble, disassemble, transport, and store.
Customisable: Children can adapt and personalise their playhouse.
Eco-friendly: Locally produced, handmade, with sustainable materials and processes.

Impact
Casa Loop shows how co-design can create products that are meaningful, sustainable, and joyful. It is also my first product with a registered design, marking an important milestone in my practice. Designed in co-creation with an architect and the greatest experts on the subject: children.
